Frequently asked
Questions

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Q: What is the cost of the cancellation protection?

A: $50 for reservations under $1,500 or 10% of the total cost for reservations over $1,500. The cost of your damage protection is calculated based off of the reservation total, including all fees and taxes.

Q: If I buy cancellation protection, can I cancel anytime?

A: You can make any changes or cancellations anytime up to 24 hours before your reservation date (24 hours before the date of pick up). You will be offered cancellation insurance when you first make the booking. You have up to 30 days prior from your booking date to opt into cancellation insurance. Once you are inside that 30 day period, you are not allowed to purchase the insurance.

Q: If I have multiple rentals booked all under one reservation and I buy the cancellation protection, do I have to pay per rental item?

A: Nope! Just a 1 time fee per reservation or per day.

Q: How does the Cancellation Protection work with bad weather on the day of my rental?

A: If there are unsafe weather conditions, Epic Recreation will reschedule or cancel all applicable reservations on the day of the inclement weather issue. Whether you purchase the Cancellation Protection or not, Epic Staff will determine if current conditions are safe or not and make said cancellations at no cost to you.

OPTIONAL DAMAGE AGREEMENT:

Q: What does purchasing the Damage Agreement do for me?

A: This is not “insurance” it is an agreement between the Renter and Epic that addresses costs if damage occurs during the rental period.

The Damage Agreement is different by rental type. See breakdown below:
Watercraft: Liability is limited to $1500 plus tax per machine.
UTVs: Liability is limited to $3500 plus tax per machine.
These amounts are the maximum amount that you will pay in damages for your machine. Once that max is reached, Epic covers the rest.

The purchase of the Damage Agreement is PER rental unit.

Q: If I have multiple machines under one booking, do I need to purchase a damage agreement for each machine?

A: Yes. Each individual machine needs to have its own damage agreement or “insurance” purchased. If you have 2 jet skis, you need to purchase 2 damage agreements so both of them are covered.

Q: What does “Damage Agreement” mean? Is it insurance?

A: The Damage agreement acts as an insurance that Epic provides to limit your liability. If $2000 in damage is done to your watercraft rental but you purchased the damage insurance, the maximum you will pay is $1500 (plus tax). The rest is covered by Epic as long as no laws were broken. Ex: Speeding, under the influence, allowed your 12 year old to operate the rental by themselves etc.

MANDATORY WAIVER AND RENTAL AGREEMENTS:

Q: What is the Waiver and Rental Agreement?

A: The waiver is a personal liability waiver stating that if anything happens to you while you are on our rental, Epic is not held liable.

The Rental Agreement is a legal document that must be signed by the person responsible for the rental(s) that agrees to terms and conditions of the rentals.

Q: What do I need to do before my reservation?

A: Epic asks that before you arrive for your rental, Everyone who will be riding on the machine MUST have a waiver signed. 18 years and older do their own waiver while parents/guardians can add minors to their waiver. Only ONE person needs to do the rental agreement. We ask that this is the person who is financially responsible for the rental. Bring a valid drivers license and the desired credit or debit card that you would like to pay with.

Q: How do I make a reservation?

A: You can book a rental through our website, over the phone, or by visiting our location in person.

Q: Do you help prepare us before operating the equipment?

A: Every machine is inspected before it goes out. Before you ride, our team fits your helmet and goggles, walks you through the controls one-on-one, and makes sure you're comfortable and ready. Safety isn't a formality here — it's how we hand off every rental.

Q: What do we do if we encounter any trouble during our rental?

A: If anything happens during your rental — an injury, a near miss, equipment trouble, or damage — call us right away at (435) 946-3742. For emergencies, call 911 first, then notify us. Prompt reporting helps us help you.

Side-by-Side Rentals:

Q: Do I need a special license to rent a side-by-side?
A: No special license is required, but you must have a valid driver’s license to rent and operate a side-by-side.

Q: Are helmets and safety gear provided?
A: Yes, we provide helmets and necessary safety gear with every rental.

Q: Are there any riding restrictions?
A: Yes, riders must follow all local waterway rules, including speed limits and designated riding areas. Epic does not set a parameter for where you can or can’t ride the watercraft in Bear Lake. Other rental companies have a radius you cannot leave, we do not do that.

A: If you book online, you pay a 50% deposit on all bookings. Sometimes if you book over the phone, we can waive the deposit and hold a card on file.

Q: Are life jackets provided?
A: Yes, we provide life jackets for all passengers at no additional cost.

Q: How does fuel work?
A: LAKEFRONT RENTALS: Fuel is not included in the rental cost and will be an additional flat rate charge added to your booking. Fuel charges are based on standard average consumption rates. Fuel usage can vary based on rider(s) weight, the number of riders, and riding type. Any fuel consumption beyond the first full tank will incur an additional cost per gallon, on top of your flat rate charge. Fuel costs will not be reimbursed if you fill your SeaDoo at a third-party location. You must monitor fuel levels throughout your rental.
TRAILERED MACHINES: Trailered SeaDoos have a lower rate than lakefront rentals because you are expected to refuel the machines before returning them and launch them yourself.

Q: Can I bring my own food and drinks?
A: Yes, you are welcome to bring your own food and drinks. However, alcohol consumption while operating a boat is strictly prohibited.

Snowmobile Rentals:

Q: Do we have to pick up the snowmobiles on a trailer or do we have to ride from there
A: Our snowmobiles are ready on the trailer for you to take to your destination. When the snow has a good enough base, you can ride right across the street up a trail that takes you to The Sinks area. *Delivery options for a fee are available if you are unable to tow the snowmobiles and you can’t ride from our building.*

Q: How many people can fit on a snowmobile?
A: 2 people per snowmobile. 1 child per youth snowmobile. We have a back rest attachment that can be put on for an additional cost.

Q: Can I pull my kids on a tube behind the snowmobile?
A: No, for safety reasons we do not allow towing behind the snowmobiles and it tears the snow tubes.

Q: How will I know where I can ride?
A: We will have you download On X Offroad that will highlight some optional trails for you. A common area to ride and play on snow tubes with the family is The Sinks area. There are trails that go north and south of The Sinks that you can ride from. All trails are family friendly but there are some trails that have higher traffic and can be in rougher conditions from the high usage - we can advise you of which trails those are.

Q: Do you provide all of the gear?
A: A helmet and goggles comes with the rental for all those riding the snowmobile. Snow gear rentals are available but we have limited sizing and quantities.

Q: Can we get a guided tour if we don’t feel comfortable going out on our own?
A: Epic does not do guided winter tours but our sister company Beaver Creek Lodge does. We can guarantee that we give you enough instruction and direction to have a great time!
